    Default Online Free Txting

Has anyone heard anything about free txting online?

Some places like txt4u seem to do it but they cut the message down to 120 characters. Its free and everything so I guess you can't complain...

Are there any other decent ones out there that don't cut down the message size?

    On their signup page:

"Sorry, as TXT4U's free services will be discontinued as the 28th of Feb unless we have a new sponsor onboard, we are no longer accepting any new members."

I'd also be keen to hear about any similar (free) service that is actually running in NZ....

So long as you wish to text a Vodaphone and you also have a Vodaphone account then I guess it will work.

Send TXTs from your internet browser to one or lots of mobiles

    How does it work?

Sending a TXT on web2TXT is as simple as sending an email. And it's only on Vodafone.
    • Save TXTs you send.
    • Replies to your web2TXT go directly to your mobile.
    • Includes your personal address book, saved online so you can access it from anywhere.
    • If you're in business, we also have Business web2TXT.
Your personal address book is saved online

    How do I use web2TXT?

Just go to the web2TXT log in page and follow the onscreen prompts. (You'll need to register for My Vodafone if you havent already.)
Then follow the onscreen prompts, and you'll be typing your TXTs in no time.

You can send TXTs to up to 50 different mobile numbers in any month – and not more than 100 TXTs in a single day. (That stops people using it for spamming.)
    • Take me to web2TXT

    How much does it cost?

You only pay 20 cents including GST for each message you send to each mobile – so one TXT sent to five people is charged as five TXTs.
There are no additional set up or maintenance costs.

The charges will appear on your monthly Vodafone account or be deducted from your Prepay credit.
    • web2TXT TXTs are not included in your pricing plan TXT bundle.
    • Weekend web2TXT TXTs are charged at normal rates – they aren't free.
Sending a web2TXT to each person costs 20c in NZ

    Business web2TXT

Business web2TXT is a fast and effective way to communicate simple messages to mobile staff, especially the same message to lots of staff at once.

And for customers, its a quick and simple way to reach them instantly, wherever they are.

[Mod's comment: I've had to remove all links out of this post because Sweep has some how manage to copy the URLs incorrectly and they all had the http://pressf1 etc prefix instead of the Vodafone website prefix - Jen]
