    Wink Tradesman contract templates

Can anyone point me in the direction of a contract template designed to indemnify the seller of a product from the recommended installer either:

    - stuffing up the installation of a product

    or

    - the installer stealing the customer, and selling product directly to them

i.e. Company X sells bathroom hardware (showers, vanities etc). Customer A visits Company X to see their range of products, and asks for a recommended builder/plumber. Company X recommends Plumber A off their list of 'trusted tradesman'.

Plumber A visits Customer A, and either stuffs up the shower installation, or poaches the customer, and supplies directly.

    Sorry if this is long-winded

Er.....the plumber breaks the thing? Is that what you mean? Cause the manufacturers warranty states if that sort of thing happens then its not covered.

Yeah, what I'm trying to get in writing is something that basically states that a recommended tradesman is just that - a recommendation, not a guarantee etc.

Just so that if they do a less than satisfactory job, the dispute is between the customer and the tradesman, not us.

    Hope that makes sense!

Then write just that. Keep it simple.

Maybe I am missing something here, but, possibly it would be more effective to stop recommending cowboys?

Otherwise the customer may wonder why you are recommending someone that you don't trust.
