i think that PC World Chat needs to seperate catagories
1. Those seeking help and expecting an answer
2. Those seeking help but cant use google and expect only ridicule and laughing out loud good times

Why would you do that? It was back in 2006. The guy might have either failed his paper or passed it and no one would care.

i stumbled across it readin another thread and it just made me think how much fun the chat forum can be and that its kinda sad that new members dont see that

obviously this site is intended for useful purposes but we're also all people, not robots. a bit of personallity is good is all im tryin to say

I think you need to move on from that thread - it was nearly 2.5 years ago now. It did turn into a free-for-all, so you can hardly pin the blame on pctek. You are also overlooking the fact that others did go out of their way to help the original poster.

Why do you say a bit of personality is required? I thought you were initially implying there was too much *personality* in that thread?

Also, online humour either sinks or swims. If you try it on a brand new member, it tends to sink.

i wasnt tryin to bring back memories or anything and im not tryin to annoy anyone, i just think that some people need to relax a bit, after all this forum is just one person helping another, no one owes anyone anything

by addin the odd smart coments we're also helpin break the "nerds arent fun" stereotype

wasnt pinning blame on pctek either (should of smiled there)
