Default Inbuilt USB does not work

    Hi,
I have PC which has inbuilt USB ports, PS2 and Keyboard ports.
PS2 and Keyboard ports works but when i try to use USB port, it does not
work. I noticed when i reboot computer i see power on USB port but once
computer completed boot cycle those power goes off. How can i make my
USB port working....As currently i have to use OLD mouse with PS2, I would like to use Optical Mouse with USB connection. Also My Computer have DVD Drives. Both Drives plays CD but cannot work as DVD. It used to work but after i re-image my computer it does not work at all. I have Windows-XP professional.

    Thanks,

Welcome to PF1 - Have you installed the motherboard drivers after the fresh install ??

Also , right click My Computer/Properties/Hardware/Device manager - look and see if there are any yellow !!! on any of the devices - esp the USB.

Yes. Those are not listed in Device Manager too. That's what surprise me too.
When i connect my Optical Mouse, I see no power at all. So when i reboot i see power in Mouse but as soon as Boot cycle complete power light goes off.
Is there any setup in BIOS?

the chipset drivers for your motherboard need to be installed....go to the manufacturers web-site and download.
The model of your motherboard is written in between the graphic card and PCI expansion slots
