    Default Finger v sawbench blade

Probably of no interest to most IT guys but any woodworkers out there might like to see this demo of the new device which stops the sawbench blade instantly if it encounters a finger.

That would have been handy on my buzzer the other month.

Amazing! Well worth the replacement cost of the blade and 'crumple zone' fitting!!

Great idea but you wouldn't want to pick up any bad habits, I can just imagine the first guy to cut his finger off when he thought the electronics would work.

I notice his (wet) hand was on the saw-bench surface so the electrical resistance from blade to finger to bench was easily measurable.

I wonder what result he would have had if his hand was on top of a piece of dry wood?
