    Default OpenOffice 3 is out!

It is so popular they have had to revert their website to text just to keep it up!

Perhaps we might start a petition or email Jan to see about getting it on an upcoming cover DVD

I think so. According to what I read yesterday. Saves docx, and loads docx now

And something new for mac users, it now works on macs, and is an alternative to Office 08

Open Office 3.0's out-of-the-box functionality also enables users to immediately read documents saved in the .docx, .xlsx or .pptx formats.

Does it look sharp? Yeah, I know function over looks should win the day... but like climb out of the 90's and get a modern look, ow.

Glad to hear that OpenOffice now works natively on Macs.

After testing I can confirm - it opens are reads .docx fine, can't save though, if it was to open and edit a .docx file it would have to save it as a .doc.

Looks great too (compared with the earlier versions) and it's faster.
