Perhaps but I don't know what I am looking for.
Does IEEE have anything to do with it, I don't recognise that.

IEEE (Institute of Eletrical and Electrionics Engineers) is actually a whole lot of things not just firewire. Although firewire (IEEE 1394) is most commonly associated with IEEE, more people would have IEEE 1284 on there computers in the form of the parallel interface.
