Umm, if its back at the shop or whatever now, I would get them to update the BIOS, if its not 1106.

As it looks like 1106 fixes video corruption. And this can make a system freeze (with that mobo).

This may have been one of the issues, you were seeing.

Its not back there yet, no point till the new parts arrive.
Can you tell me how to check bios version, hopefully it can be done in windows as I cannot restart right now

In dxdiag bios is listed as Phoenix - AwardBIOS v6.00PG
    Does that help?

In XP try start / all programs / accessories / system tools / system information.

It may show under BIOS Version / date.

    It does on this.

I dont know where it is in Vista, I dont use it

I wouldnt update the BIOS in Windows tho (if your BIOS isnt 1106)

    OK
So it needs a bios update first and foremost from the looks of things.

How do I flash the bios?

VERY carefully cause if you get it wrong PERMANENTLY dead motherboard.......

ask the shop tech to do it......

OK so I need to leave that for the tech.
I am creating a email to send to him with as much information as I can get.

Anything else to add to what we have here so far?

(seems to crash a lot when I am typing, just had one, and several last night)
