Default Problem with my new software

I got my computer back with XP dual booting to Vista but neither of the OS's are stable.

They are constantly crashing, can anyone tell me where to look for a error or something in order to start tracking the source of this problem?

Ok I got the event viewer up in Vista but I don't know what I am looking at.
Also how do I run the Ram and Harddrive tests, I don't see that as a option in here.

    Although both are brand new.

Look for any entries with a X or bugcheck entries.

Might be under system. I dont know what Vista's event viewer has

You probably have to use memtest in DOS to test the ram, not in Windows

This is what I see in the Event Viewer error section
There is a critical section also but no events logged in it.

    How do I run memtest?

So its been crashing since April / May?? I thought you just got it back?? What did whoever actually do to it?

Post another screenshot with more recent dates, and the times/dates it actually crashed

    Look here for Memtest

I've never used it. But it looks like you'll have to burn it to a cd or boot from a floppy / USB flash drive

The dates are very strange this is a new build
Computer went in on Monday for...
    Motherboard
    CPU
    Ram
    Optical drives
    Card reader
New harddrive with a dual boot to windows vista 64bit

It was rebuilt with all new hardware and vista 64bit was installed onto a new harddrive to dual boot with the existing XP system.
XP was removed and reinstalled into the system for the sake of drivers etc and both XP and Vista are not running stable, crashing often.
The vista install where this error log is, is only 2 days old.

Ok checked the system date looks like it the tech forgot to set it
Its showing May 1st so the dates now work.

If XP was removed, was it reinstalled while Vista was still installed??

If it was, this could be why its crashing.

XP SHOULD be installed BEFORE Vista.

If it keeps on crashing take it back and tell them to do it properly (if they installed XP and Vista, and you paid for them to do it).

And / or get a refund, and go somewhere else. To someone who knows what theyre doing

I am not sure what order the OS's were installed, I asked the tech to install the hardware I brought from him and install a dual boot system, I wasn't really interested in the how of things...

I gave him a call and he thinks it might be the Motherboard, hes ordered a new one to swap into it.
