New TV - Opinions.

What do you guys think...should do the job? Good deal? I'm gonna call around and see if I can get it any cheaper + get an HDMI cable thrown in. I want to get a DVD recorder at some stage, so now is as good as any.

Only 32"???!!! For that price you could get a 37" Panasonic plasma.

But Sony is a good brand... You planning on using it as a TV or an extra/replacement computer monitor?

Both. Need a TV tuner, otherwise I'd buy a 37" Sony U-Series. Must be 1080i and 1080p compatible, and at least 1366x768 res. (So real 1080i)

Would quite like a 40", but thats a little much I reckon.

Man that 40" does look real nice though...

I have this model. Is freaking brilliant. I bought it in the middle of last month from Bond+Bond for $1499. They made me pay for the HDMI cable .

I have it hooked up to my PC and it's absolutely stellar. Colours are thick and bright. DVD's look great, sounds great.

TV on it doesn't look that great, only because it is able to pick up the poor quality of your average reception that your cheap tube-tv doesn't see. Get Freeview HD on it and it will look fantastic.

I'm still waiting on my HDD-DVD recorder though.

I recommend you buy it. And this was after i did my market research.

You used HDMI for a DVD player or from the PC?

I will probably be using the HD15 option for connecting it to the PC.

For that price you could have the panny plasma 42" at Noel Leemings which includes a HDMI input!

My parents got one, I already have the 37" and can say I am jealous of the extra 5"

I have had the Sony KLV40V300A since the beginning of Feb, from NL cost $2500 but got a free Sony Portable DVD player chucked in, value $350.
Very happy with the TV. Back in the beginning of March got a Sony DVD HD recorder HX950 from B&B normal retail $699, got it less 20% $550.

Stick with LCD over Plasma, you will not regret it if you want great HD definition later.
