In previous versions this can be done by right clicking on the Explorer shortcut and typing c:\ in the Start in box or after explorer.exe For example, c:\windows\explorer.exe c:\ should start in explorer in the root directory.

    Colin,

The following exert of article Q295044 from Microsofts Knowledge base describes how to customise the start up directory.

By default, when you click Start, point to Programs, point to Accessories, and then click Windows Explorer, Windows Explorer opens to My Documents. If you want Windows Explorer to open to drive C:
    1. Click Start, point to Programs, point to Accessories, and then right-click Windows Explorer.
    2. Click Properties, and then type the following text in the Target box: c:\windows\explorer.exe /n,/e,c:\
    3. Click OK.

I had also wanted to open my Explorer in my C drive. So I was pleased to find this article.
I find that the above solution does not work in ME
Using the same instructions I just entered C:\ in the Target box and it works just fine for me.
Would someone be able to tell me what the /n and /c switches are for ?
