Question Photo resize programme for Macs

I'm only a little familiar with Macs, but I've been asked to help someone resize photos for competition.

    The requirements are:

Free programme to work on Mac computer (or one that is already there)

    72 dpi

Maximum of 1024 pixels for longest side

    Thanks & cheers

Normally I'd recommend Irfanview all the way, but alas, there's no Mac version as of yet.

    Try GraphicConverter by Lemkesoft:

Automator on the Mac will do it

GIMP for Mac would be the other option - its Free also

    User manual here
    http://www.freetechbooks.com/about10.html

iPhoto will crop, rotate and colour adjust but it is not designed to resize the full image.

If you are using it, here is a guide to Leopard
    http://www.apple.com/findouthow/macosx/

What size are the photos at the moment?

My wrong, I just checked and iPhoto does resize images if you choose the file>export>resize/scale image>destination of file. That's in iPhoto 6

Thanks for that. I've sent all the suggestions to my son in London to check out - he has a Mac.

Normally for something like that I would just type the question into Google to get the answer.
