Default Backing up data prior to reformat

    Hi all,

I'm reformatting a XP machine and want to know what data I need to back up. I'm racking my brain to think whether there's anything other than this:

    - Documents from all users
    - Desktop from all users
    - Emails (BTW how do you back up emails from Outlook and Outlook Express?)
    - Internet Favourites from all users (how do you back these up in Firefox?)
    - Any folders that were manually created in C:
    - Other document folders.

Is that all? Strangely feels like I'm forgetting something.

    Thx

Copy all Users documents folders to a CD or another device, same with any other folder you want to backup.

    Firefox bookmarks / Favourites

For outlook get outlook express backup, great tiny program it's free for a 30 day trial.

Before you format think hard if you have got everything you want. Trust me.

Do what I do - ghost the whole drive to another drive, transfer all the data you can think of, if after a week nothing else is Suddenly remembered - wipe the drive.

Yes, make a mirror of the drive. Whatever program you use, if you do it this way, every bit of info is saved.

You can buy an external hard drive for $100,always handy for such occasions.
