    Default harddrive not recognised

    hi i have two harddrives on my pc the master has all the programs i use onit the slave which is spilt in two equal parts has my music and films.i had to reinstall windows xp and now the pc will not open the slave drive just wants to format it whats gone wrong

    Sounds strange - on the surface of it might have deleted the partitions somehow during install - but if you are experienced with re-installs this is not likely. Is the cable plugged in properly? Perhaps the drive has gone faulty - I wonder what happens if you plug it into another PC?

    hi johnd sorry i have not replyed earlier but did not have access to an other computer until last night put both my drives in it they both worked replaced them in my pc they both worked there so not sure what happened but good result thanks again fertdude
