    Default Thunderbird problem

Since the weekend the folders look empty. When I click on them it says something like 'building summary files' which takes some time to do then all the emails appear where they were. I have to wait for it to do this every time. How do I fix it.

Yes, am trying now one of your links it is taking a while but the site said it might.
Thanks anyway. I'll be back later if it's still crazy. It's strange as I have never compacted before & have used this programme for about 3 years.

Which would explain why it might need to compact now.
All the technology and software in the universe is useless when the end user has the IQ of a sack of hammers.
