Question schedule a shutdown with GPO?

    Hi,
I am wanting to shutdown certain client workstations at the end of the day. I would rather not create a batch to do this so i was wondering if there was a way to do this using group policy, i have had a quick poke around with no luck.

    Cheers,
    J

Tell everyone in your group to do it themselves when they leave work... Lazy Buggers

You can do it from within the active directory.

But have a look at These truck loads of different apps.

Also found This article, may help a little, plenty of sugegstions.

You can always get Vista installed ( Yeah Right), it has a shut down schedule built in - real handy for getting the kids off the PC at night, gives a warning before the scheduled time it shuts down & unless pass word is put in you cant stop it.

Now what was that pass word again

whats the big deal with writing a batch file anyway? all you need to do is call shutdown.exe
Have done this often in my own network.

because in a massive network you don't want to have to schedule a batch file to do a shutdown on 100 seperate computers. I'd rather centralize it with a GPO.

Cheers Wainui I'll have a read of that article.
