Default 64 bit Vista and antivirus software...apparently not good at this stage.

Anti virus software for the 64-bit version of Windows Vista is struggling to properly protect the operating system, according to a new test by the Virus Bulletin security certification body.

Of the 20 anti-virus product tested, 35 percent failed to meet the test's criteria. Six of the failing grades were caused by so called false positives, legitimate files that are incorrectly flagged as malware.

Have you got the 64-bit version of Vista. 64-bit version of Vista does not allow nearly anything into the kernel of the computer as it does not think the program is safe. Mc Afee and Norton are getting help from microsoft to find a way to get through the kernel (Microsoft is giving them a patch)

Then stop talking about it like you know and use it regularly.
All the technology and software in the universe is useless when the end user has the IQ of a sack of hammers.

I actually posted the article because I was surprised to read about the 3rd party anti virus application issues surrounding 64bit Vista.
