I've got Win95 original on my system, and it's not recognising the Sony CDU50E CD-ROM drive on the secondary IDE drive controller (drive is set as master).
The motherboard (Award BIOS, iNTEL 430VX chipset) detects the drive on startup, and Windows works it on Windows startup, but it doesn't appear in Windows, and the Device Manager shows the secondary bus master IDE controller as having a fault.
I've installed the latest bus-master drivers from iNTEL's site, and that makes no difference. I know the drive works fine (I can access it using DOS drivers), and this version of Windows can detect the drive (it was doing so on another motherboard).
Why can't I see the drive? Is there any way to manually install the drivers in Windows manually?
