    Default Video card

    Hi guys

Installed a new video card Sunday. No problems, installation went well. Yesterday, saw the "Start" screen showing black lines over every item on the basic list, although if you use the mouse and go to one of the items it still works. Some of the websites also showed thin black lines.

I think it may be the VC driver(s) being too old? (VC = Radeon 9600). WinXp, 1.7 Ghz, 1G Ram, and I replaced the card after the previous card failed (or so I thought).

    Any ideas?

Sorry for the sparse details - difficult to describe.

Which version of ATi Catalyst are you using?

Have you tried uninstalling then re-installing the driver.

No Chief, will do that. As an afterthought, I should probably undelete the old drivers (previous card) too?

Yes, remove all old drivers. Download a new one.

Download a program called Driver Cleaner to remove all componets of your old drivers. Just useing the add/remove in windows dose not remove all components. Get Driver Cleaner from here.
