    Default Opinions and Info

    Greetings,

a little project of mine, I'm looking to get this pic blown up and printed out and perhaps framed, On the versions they have on Trademe (apparently originals) it has the players listed, Does anyone have this info?

And the source pic looks too yellow for my liking, Any comment of which would look better welcome.

    hey metla.

i prefer the original. the colour is warm and looks original.

the others look to "manafactured" as if they have bene mass printed.

    I prefer either the top/yellow or bottom/greyscale.

Will it be framed? forget that, just reread your original post.

Agreed -the sepia one 'fits' with the time it was taken...

I think the source photo is a bit too yellow for my liking. Sepia tones can be a bit more subtle than that which gives it a good authentic look without giving them all hepatitis.

Quick fiddle by adjusting the midtone range colour balance more towards blue than yellow:

The greyscale looks best to me - not only equally authentic looking as the original, but seems to have a better (seemingly) quality... ie it's easier to look at.

Greyscale. Convert it back to colour and try adding a touch of sepia (r, g, b) (112, 66, 20)), otherwise stick with the greyscale, it looks closer to the linked framed image. Another thought, was sepia still widely in use in 1924?
