Seriously needed help here

My 2yr old Western Digital HDD is dead. Is there anyway to recover my files?

Can't believe it some of my my important data is in that HDD.
And another question:
Can my computer run on this product with SATAII connection I mean my computer only supports SATAI?

And When repairing Windows XP Professional what do I do there? Any ideas?
1: C:\WINDOWS
First it says "Which Windows installation would you like to log onto
<To cancel, press ENTER>?
Type the Administrator password: (But I don't have one) so I just press ENTER
then it shows C:\WINDOWS> (What should I type in here to repair windows?)

To repair Windows you have to have yr XP cd and insert that so you boot from it
then there is a repair XP facility.
No clear on yr other problems,if you want to repair XP then yr HDD is not dead.
Explain clearer.
There are several posts on "lost" HDD data on this forum and one will have yr solution on it.Search FAQ for a start.

INDEED this completely depends on WHAT the problem IS. If you want some help here you are gonna have to detail the EXACT error/problem and if you have sensitive/important data on the drive dont go stumbling around trying to repair it if you dont really know what you are doing.... could be a bad idea. Anway post more info please - saying your hdd has died is NOT sufficient. In what way has it died, what happens with it when you try to boot windows, is it recognised in bios etc etc ?

You can use a SATA 2 hdd, but you'll have to jumper it to SATA 1.

And it wont run at SATA 2 speed. If you system doesnt support SATA 2.

Now my HDD is really a problem, I can't boot into Windows, or log in into save mode. And when I use Norton GoBack it says there is an error with the disk drive.

And it says the Windows disk drive is very unstable.

Well, if the data is really that important, I would stop using the drive immediately and take it to a data recovery specialist.
The more you try and "muck around" with it the less chance you have of recovering any data.

Did u buy it from Supercheap? Bad mistake if you did.

Theyre not the most reliable people around, if u hadnt noticed from other posts in here about that place.

Other than that, if u want to use it format it. Not much else u can do if it doesnt boot into Windows. And recovery console doesnt work.

What happens if u connect it to a working computer as a slave?? Can you get into it?
