    Default extracting audio clip from avi clip

    so i have a 1/2 hour avi, i need 10 seconds of audio out of it.

    i need it in the next few hours.

    what windows freeware tools can i use??

    help!!

    You could try Total Recorder - it does cost $US20 but has a great many uses and I'm sure you would find it useful in the future

    Or, for super cheap, use {sound recorder} to record while the .avi is playing the relevant bit. Make a dummy .wav file first to save it into, as sound recorder defaults to some ridiculously short time limit.

    try virtualdub
    or virtualdub mod

    if it's able to open the avi you want you'll be able to demux the audio stream
    then get audacity to chop out the part you want
    or you can select and range you want in virtualdub too i think

    Use audacity.
    Once running you import the sound file from the avi, trim to your liking and save it in what ever format you require.

    I have audacity, dident know that it could open an avi.
