    Default laptops

im a student and i need to buy a laptop around christmas

and i no it seems pretty early for this but......

right now i have my eyes set on lenovo as i had used one before (well...an IBM one) for quite a while and is quite stable and secure.

Just want some advice on this......
Because i have seen a lot of other notebooks like toshiba (great features) and sony (good notebook design) that are pretty well respected.

Also bearing in mind that i prob wont use it for mainly games, but i would prob need it for design apps.

i would like it to have a fairly good screen (on of those glossy ones). And also when will Windows Vista be preinstalled in laptops? cos i would like to buy one with it installed (prob unlikely but......u neva no..)

i would also like a laptop that is quite secure and ..well....not prone to frequent crashes....

and finally around the 2000-3400 price range

If you want to be an early adopter of any new OS, a laptop is possibly not the best machine to do it with. Bug fixes are more rapidly released on the most widely used systems.
