Stop error - GT Legends Demo

Just downloaded demo for GT Legends, but when I went to run it, it went to a blue screen, with the following message

Multiple_Complete_IRP_Requests (or something like that.

The Stop code was 0x00000044 (0x84FAA2B0, 0x00001BBE, 0x00000000, 0x00000000). I reset, and then shutdown all processes from the system tray, and the same thing happened, except the Stop code now read 0x00000044 (0x85207668, 0x00001BBE, 0x00000000, 0x00000000).
I reset again, booting into safe mode - this time there was no blue screen, but it came up with a window saying "No DirectX 8.1 drivers", which would be on account of being in safe mode, no doubt.

Any ideas?

Specs: AMD Athlon64 2800+
MSI Nforce 3 Neo mobo
1GB DDR400 RAM
Ati RADEON GeCube 9800 Pro 128MB
