Default how to use telecom's wi-fi hotspots?

if u have a laptop with a wi-fi card, and u go to a cafe where telecom has a wif-fi hotspot, how do u log into it? Because telecom say travellers from overseas will be able to come to new zealand and use the internet from wi-fi hotspots with their laptops and wi-fi card. Where would travellers from say, usa, get the user names and passwords from to login to the service?

If it is free they wont have to authenticate it will just connect.

If it is a paid service, then they will purchase a card with login details.

Yea, it ain't free unless you're an xtra broadband customer, and then it counts against your usual download cap.
If you are from overseas/not xtra customer, you can buy a pre-paid card, or you can use your credit card (I think?).
Simply turn on wireless, open up your browser, and follow the instructions there.
