What do you think is better:

    ???

Dows the GX260 have USB 2.0?
    Would a 2.2GHz Celeron perform better that a 1.8GHz pentium 4?

    Just want your opinions...

IMO the Compaq PC is better than the Dell. More RAM, bigger hard drive, Pentium processor. Pentium any day over a Celeron, even with 1.6 or 1.8 vs 2.2

    Just my opinion,

Could only open 1 link, but always go pentium over celeron.

For the record anything over P3 ~1Ghz, with 256MB RAM will run XP quite nicely or Linux with ease. Maybe increase your budget to $400-$500 as well, you will get a much better computer if you get outta the mega-budget price range.

I'm not sure if this has USB 2.0, which I need.

    Cheers

Yeah that looks pretty good, but I'm only looking for a 1GHz+ or so machine with USB 2.0, that has a small form factor and will have good hardware reliability, 256 mb RAM and preferably a CD-RW.

I won't be using a fancy graphics card or anything like that, the machine just needs to run 24/7.

I'm stumped here.... I don't know what to choose.

I'm prepared to spend up to about $300

    What would you choose?

What sort of pc do you have now?

You could upgrade it a bit, ie install some more ram.
