Wel that depends. you may need to change your case/according to ur new motherboard. i think you would be better of buying a new box instead of upgrade.

Have a look on www.pricespy.co.nz for computer stuff.

You could get a upgrade box, alot of people do that, thats a case, motherboard, cpu, and some ram at a reasonable price, and you just add your other stuff to it (harddrives, graphics card, sound card, etc,or you can get the shop to do it for you,for a price).Ask your local computer shops if they do it or check out shops online.

You'll probably find that the cheapest way of getting the hardware AND Vista is to buy them all at once as a package deal. Start saving now.

That all depends on what sort of graphics card - for gaming or not for gaming?
And what size HDD you want, whether you want the lot - case, PSU, Modem, KB, mouse, optical drive etc etc.

Anything from $1000 - $whatever you want to spend is a rough estimate.

If this is any help to you.
I built a new PC last month.
Lian Li case with 500watt PSU
    Asus A8N-E m/b
    Athlon 64 x 2 4200+ cpu
    2gigs low latency ram
NVidia 9800 gt 256 meg graphic card.
    floppy drive
    CD/DVD read write.

Did not replace monitor, keyboard, modem etc.

The whole lot cost me $2,640.

Not as much as I thought it would and beleive me it's fast. Should handle anything comming up in the next couple of years.

    Hitech

In all honestly you are probably better off hocking your old PC off as a going concern and buying a new one, will probably work out cheaper than trying to upgrade that substantially.

The only sensible upgrade for your old PC is HDD and RAM, once you start going much beyond that it is time to part with the old girl.
