    Default jumpy mouse

I have a Gateway Solo 9300VE, P4, 412MB RAM, 2-80GB internal and USB external drives, and an external mouse and keyboard through a belkin switch. The mouse jumps around even in safe mode. when in normal mode when I move the mouse many windows open and close rapidly. No conflicts occur in the device manager. I flashed the BIOS and the problem remains. Any ideas?

This problem can occur when you connect a USB mouse through a PS/2 adapter when the mouse is not compatible. Try connecting the mouse directly to a USB port on the PC, rather than using an adapter or kvm switch.

    Did this solve your problem?
