Default How Do You Clean Stains of Coffee and Tea Mugs?

Intrigued by the amount of replies to an earlier thread regarding rising dishes so I thought for a bit of fun, I'd ask this domestic question, How Do You Clean Stains of Coffee and Tea Mugs?

Just to kick off the discussion here's how I do it. Bleach used straight does a fantastic job, quick but your cups smell a bit. Make sure you put the cups out of reach, otherwise you might mistake it for a drink, not nice. Recommend you wash them in hot soapy water afterwards and yes, do rinse them. Worry about the safety of this one!!

The best method I know, however, is to put in a Streadent Tablet with water. You know, what cleans yah false teeth. Cleans yah coffee mugs too. Put yah false gnawer's in your favorite mug and get two cleans for the price of one!! Seriously, takes overnight but does a great job. Recommend you wash them in hot soapy water afterwards and yes, do rinse the cups and yah Choppas!!

Then there's elbow grease, let's not go there. Sounds like work!!

The best method I've found is to put them in the dishwasher. Brilliant.

Put a spoonful of salt into the cup, add a few drops of water, and rub like you never rubbed before.

Bleach works....but wash and rinse well after.
Salt works well..again, wash and rinse after.
Steradent works too..once had to clean stamp pad ink from the fingers of a 5 year old, it worked very well.
Dishwasher is great too....but I prefer not to wash my wine glasses in there,
the substance used does tend to leave a film that affects the wine, especially sparkling varieties

Just use a plastic scourer pad, not too much work and cleans well. 99 cents for 5 from The Warehouse or Countdown.

well i dont have light coloured cups...so ya cant see the stains i guess..but a steelo pad works wonders............. done that before, rinse after and wash and clean..... or just buy some more...... i used to have to replace cups, plates lots...........must be getting more careful with age?

salt and a drop of water works well to, makes a nice foot rub / hand rub with essential oils as well............ or baking soda....right bob? takes away the smell all good.

another peice of useless beetle info for the day.........
