Default Windows XP Media Centre Edition 2005

What are the main differences of this XP Media Centre from XP Professional or Home Edition?

    Cheers

The short answer is: Media Center Capabilities.
The Long(ish/er) one is that there is some extra stuff, which makes your computer into a Media Center, there is a program with a nice (well kinda) user interface which is easy to use and control from your loungeroom sofa.
If you dont have a media center capable tv tuner or a media center remote controll then there is not much use for it, and if you dont plan to use your computer in your lounge you dont need it.
I hope this helps, i am new

Media Edition has another GUI interface for use with a remote control, but can be switched to normal for everyday PC operation.

More Audio/Viisual codex with add-in media PCI cards such as TV cards and ablitly to record to hard drive, though with same hardware can also be done on normal pc's.

I think mainly the remote interface for use in lounges etc and it abilitly to hook into TV guides etc for interaction with streaming media.
