Default Vid card to power TFT monitor

Will a pc with an old PCI video card get a newish TFT/LCD monitor to work?

    Thx

How old? I've put LCD's on some fairly ancient PC's at work (~233's) and some worked while others kept flashing the monitor on/off. Not sure what sort of video they had though.

Not sure how old. It came off a Dell P2 of indeterminate age. Thx anyway.
