Default Pruning XP explorer box ?

How can I get rid of the blue box with helpful links to 'file and folder tasks' etc in left of explorer windows ?
can I just have the files view without going back to windows classic or some such ?

    thanks for any help

Tools > folder options > classic folders
I haven't spoken to my wife for 18 months - I just don't dare to interrupt her.

or you can turn off "show common tasks in folders"

If you want to lighten the load of XP you can system properties>advanced?>performance>settings>custom, then untick everything apart from the last two.

This will turn off near everything thats just window dressing but it will still look like XP....
