That article is a month old, and when it was written it was still old hat.

Where / how can I download IE7? I heard that IE7 Beta is only available for Vista.

    Cheers

Beta testers will only be able to get / test the beta, most probably.

I wouldnt even bother with IE 7. Its way behind anything else.

It works in XP as well (not sure about 2k, but probably) - it is a downloadable package, so is obviously not just for Vista (as it comes as part of Vista). I wasn't too keen on the IE7 layout really, but some of the features were quite good (although they're probably things that have been around in other browsers for years).

SP3 is reported to include IE7 and a bunch of other hand-me-downs from Vista.

My money is on it creating as many security holes as it plugs, plus MS will leave the usual holes open so its partners can hang their bloat off it.

MS are funny buggers, May their downfall be swift.

Why is everyone critising IE 7 when they haven't even seen it?

I use IE 6 and am quite happy with it. I've tried others, including Firefox, but consider them too complicated to bother with.

I think if MS got god to write their software there would still be complaints.

Umm nope, IE 7 wont support Win 2k.

Only XP +. So, I've read anyway.

Sorry Jack, I don't like parts of IE7, and I have seen it, and used it, on both XP and Vista machines. It fits in with the style of Vista, but I still don't like the layout - it doesn't really flow properly, and there are buttons missing that I just can't find (like the 'home' button... it lets you specify a 'home' page, but provides no button to get there!)

I like IE6, and there are features in IE7 that I wouldn't mind having, but the layout is annoying, which is why I switched back to IE6.

Just looked at some screen shots of IE7 & it looks like they based their design on firefox. They are blowing their own trumpet about "new" features that Mozilla & Opera have had for ages.
