    Default Letter box

I want to build a letter box, but can't seem to find plans for it on-line (I need a plan, I'm hopeless trying to do it without). Any ideas where I can find plans - my local library can't help.

What sort of letterbox are you looking at? Wooden? Metal? off a pole? etc...

    Plans?
    You don't need plans....
I bought a PC case off TM, one of the type with the door on front. Remove door, cut out back, attached door so that it lifts up. CDRom bay became letter slot.
    Voila. One letterbox.
Its seems popular with the school kids anyway - and no, I don't mean they mess with it. Just look at it.
Oh it still has its power button and front usb etc, although not working of course.

When you do finish your letter box make sure you mount it in the same place as the old one. A mate moved his letter box 2 metres to try to reduce vandelism and world war three broke out with NZ post, who refused to deliver his mail because he failed to go through the correct process. In the end he gave up and put the box back in the original place.

It is best to ensure the slot can accept an A4 size envelope without bending it, as well as being deep/long enough to allow the A4 to fit in the box without sticking out. It amazes me most all letter boxes that I see for sale are not big enough for A4 size, so it means it gets wet in the rain.
