    Default Network Places question

How do I suppress items being automatically added to my "Network Places"? I know it can be done, but I can't remember how.

In My Network Places, click Tools | Folder Options | View and un-check
"Automatically search for network folders and printers". You can delete any unwanted shortcuts.

Johnboy, that option seems to have stopped Windows actively searching out share to add to "My network places" , but it still seems to be adding them if I actually connect to a network share, and I am sure that is stoppable too - any ideas?

Just what I need, but yeah, it only works with XP Pro.

I know it can be done because I have done it on this PC (running XP Home), but I've totally forgotten how!

    That's the one!

I've checked this PC and the DWORD exists and is set, so that must be how I did it before - but how I found out about it I still can't remember!

    Thanks for your help.
