Are there any disks in any drives?

Where there hard drives in your machine when you installed that you've since taken out?

You could use recovery console to restore (fixboot, fixmbr, etc), or simply reinstall.

What you can see is a directory entry for a file called NTLDR. However, the actual file pointed to by that directory entry might not be a non-corrupted, complete, working copy of the programme code needed to load the NT kernel.

(BTW, isn't NTLDR, and a couple of other boot up files supposed to be hidden?)
