Smile Is it possible to burn vcd movies on DVD-R?

hi there. how is it going? everyone having a good weekend?
just wondering if i can burn some vcd format movies on a DVD-R cd and can it then be played on a DVD player so it can be watched on TV.

Is it possible to do that and how would i burn them on the dvd-r?

I have a dvd writer and have some xvid movies and converted them to mpeg format. Also have full Nero 6 version so can burn dvd-r.

so can someone please let me know how to do it? thanx a lot.

Ive never done this but VCD's do not have the same quality as a DVD so all you would be doing is effectively creating a DVD disc with the same quality as the source but not having to swap CD discs. If you think its worth the effort then snoop around http://www.videohelp.com/guides.php?...lect=4;14#4;14

Well i do not have the dvds with me. These are the movies i have just downloaded from p2p programs. Which are in Xvid quality and after i have converted it with cucusoft avi-vcd program. The quality is still really nice and file size is abot 900mb. I was suprised my selft of the quality of the vcd it converted really good for 900mb. so i was thinking i can burn upto 4 movies in 1 dvd-r.

Yup Nero should do it, but Nerovision might be better. This is another package from the Nero site.

Only thing is, it might complain that the dvd/vcd plugin isnt installed. So u can burn what you have. Some of the Nero plugins aren't free.

Some VCD's arent as good as DVD, or near DVD quality. But they're still good enough to watch it.

A better thing to do, is get the things u want, so u have as much as a DVD, then use Nerovision or some other program, add titles/menus for whatever, and then burn it as a DVD. This way, you wont waste 3gb or so just burning 1 file to a 4.7 GB DVD.

Depends on how modern/recent your external DVD player is. Not all DVD players can play/read burned DVD's.

All sites above seem bad, (the RIAA?) but try this one:
