    Default Microstaff Winaspi

This appeared in programmes list on Sart menu. It is accompanied by an uninstaller. Anyone know what it is, does, whence it came - might have slithered in when we installed a new dvd drive or with my new fujifinepix camera? Have done a search here - nothing helpful eventuated. Google found some, but all info there either bewildering or non compis mentis. Maybe it's me! Thanks for info (found using search) on how to get past items off taskbar notification list.

Google identifies it as a Mixer application, installed with some Camcorders or DVD drives?

If its the same as ASPI

    http://www.adaptec.com/

This is from Adaptec. Some burners do use it, BUT it usually isnt needed for Windows XP. Nero uses ASPI as well, when it installs, for burning. I think some SCSI devices / maybe burners use ASPI too.
