    Default Raid

I know absolutely nothing about Raid.
I have one hard disk ,all in one partition. Would there be any advantage in trying to activate RAID???
My new M/B has raid and Sata Raid and raid 0 and raid 1.
Are they any use to me or should I just ignore them.

They are no use to you, unless you have two hard disks, as raid 1 mirrors two disks, and raid 0 spreds data between two harddisks and gives more room.

Raid stands for "redundant array of independent disks"

You could loosely describe it like that, but as mentioned there's more to it
