DVI/VGA cable signal length

I heard bout the video degradation along rca cables but what about VGA and DVI cable?

Do they suffer from the same signal loss?

I had this issue when I wanted an extension VGA cable for my 19" monitor, I bout a cheap cable, and found that it got effected by magnetic fields, and would cause a 'pulsing' picture on the monitor, I then purchased a 2 Metre heavy shielded cable, and have found no problems at all with it. So my advise if you are looking at extending your cable length, is to pay more and get the heavier shielding.
I'm not sure about DVI cable though, as I don't have a LCD monitor.

Anything with high frequency signals can be affected by cable length (capacity effect).

DVI should be tolerant until the digital signal is degraded, then info is also lost.

Rounded IDE cables can also cause data corruption in your hard drives etc if they are too long as well, and a lot of them are.
