    Default File Error Message

I was working on a friends computer and in order to test something out I put my hard drive on it. Since then, whenever I start my pc up I get an error message come up on desktop that reads "open o2adj.sys file error". I can get rid of the message and it doesn't seem to make any difference to the running of the pc, but I have 2 questions.

    1. How can I get rid of it so it doesn't appear again? (It also comes up now on my friend's pc).

    2. What does it mean?

    I am running P4 2.4Ghz with XPSP2.

    Thanks for help

Try going to start/run and type in msconfig. See if that filename is under startup. If it is untick it. That should fix it. Dont know what that file is, its not part of XP. From what I can see.

Or try getting Hijackthis and paste what it brings up here.

Hey thanks for that. I have checked out msconfig and it's not there. What is "highjackthis?". I can't think of anyything else.

Hijackthis http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/index.html is a program that scans your system for things like spyware or other nasties. Altho Ive heard you have to follow how to install / use this program, for it to work properly.

    Or get spybot from http://www.spybot.info

Install it then run and scan your system. See what it picks up.
