Uh --
Lots of negativity floating round about Telecom at the moment - so I just thought I'd take a thread to even out the argument:
Telecom is cool. They are a company. They are out there to make money. Lots of it. Lots and lots. & Lots.

I am sure the cheque will be in the mail, growly.
robo.

There always will be so give up.
Theresa Gattung is way cooler than Rod Deane
Using a Kia Ora card I can ring AKL, Wgtn or Chch from Masterton for 5 cents a minute, 24 hours a day. With Telecom it is 5-10-20 times this much. This ain't so cool but a rip off.... but then I hear rumours that phone cards are going to be regulated - anyone know if this is true?

I'm so glad people like you live in this country. With this attitude, we're sure to prosper.

Ditto
Why did you even start a post like this it was only going to cause trouble and served no purpose on this site. I now know where you come from though.

Its a free world Mike. Growly's OT is no worse than half the other OT crap posts. Whats wrong with a bit of discussion anyway
Go Growly! I get ticked off at the posts bagging Telecom, Microsoft, and any business of any size. Its about time there were some alternative points of view.
If Orcon (which I happen to support) made a $700 million profit would we see lots of posts of congratulations? A Kiwi business success? Not in a month of Sundays.
Its a miracle that Telecom has survived in the face of giant companies such as Vodaphone, British Telecom (Clear), and Telstra.

Hmmm - I don't quite know about the "miracle". I'm still worrying about the tragedy - the cast of victims in this play is quite large.
One thing is certain, if no other players had come into the game, we would not be far removed from crank-up telephones in a lot of spots. Now, the playing field may be a (big) bit off level, but at least the game is moving.
