Maybe your friend didn't put on enough postage.

The 40c are still getting through alright ;-) Unless it was a manager that sorted your 'mail'...

Just another thought... If I turned by phone off or outside the coverage area while that sms was being sent. Does that sms comes to my phone instantly when i switch it back on? or when I get coverage again?

Logic tells me they will come in when you get coverage again. Anyone else agree? ;-)

Well to receive a SMS your phone needs to be for a start Then when you get coverage, it will arrive. Without coverage, how can it get to you if it doesn't know where you are!

I'm pretty sure SMS's queue on non delivery, then attempt to resend, then return to the back of the queue.

Emergency services were looking at moving to SMS instead of pagers, but delays and reliability issues were a big factor.

Try Googling on the topic, theres a lot of interesting reading.

    Haha ..

Sorry for misleading ... I knew that to receieve SMS my phone needs to be in the coverage area and turned on.

What I was thinking if it just happens that my phone was out of coverage and can't receieve the SMS, does the SMS get sent by the server (if that is the correct term) again and in what interval?

Does the interval gets longer? ... like it will resend in 1 minute, 5, 10, 20 and gets longer ?

We find SKT if we go to our inlaws that for some reason that there is not good coverage there. I mean their house not the city - strange but true. Depending on where you place your phone in the house whether or not you get your messages when they are sent. But when back in a good coverage normally away from the house, but sometimes just moving it to another spot in the house all messages come through.

Also when your battery goes flat and you get sent a message, it will be sent when the phone has been charged again and turned back on.

    This is my experience.
