I have Outlook 2002 running on XP Home.
How can I delete an attachment I don't want, while still saving the text of the email?

Open the email, right click on the attachment you don't want, and click "Remove". Close the email and click "Yes" to save changes.
Mike.
I don't know if there is a simpler way, but one way would be to "Reply to:", then removing the sender's email address from the reply and replacing it with your own, then email it to yourself and delete the original email.
Otherwise copy and paste the contents of the email into a document and save that.
There has to be a simpler way though!

Oops, Mike got in whilst I was composing the reply and showed that yes, there is a simpler way...
One of the best things about Eudora is that attachments are automatically separated and sent into their own folder. This gives you the option of keeping or deleting the ones you require whether attachments or messages with the minimum of fuss. ;-)
Hi Mike I tried what you said i it don't work, the remove option is greyed out have I missed something somewhere. Using OE and winXP pro.

Hi Odin, I have no idea if it works in Outlook Express as I only use the full Outlook program (as the original post requested). But one thing I think you need to do is make sure you open the email rather than just view it in a preview pane.
Mike.
