Default bootable usb 2.0 external drive

I'm interested in getting a Maxtor One Touch usb 2.0 external drive to back up data on my IBM T40. Is there a way to make it bootable with a copy of my Windows XP Pro settings and software?

Hi JimmyJoe, and welcome to PressF1.

Yes you can. Some Bios' will let you access USB based drives on bootup, but it will depend solely on whether yours can or not.
