Could someone please tell me what Q/T is for.Is it an alternative for my media player or what. Also,if not,do I need it.

It's a player. If a site offers you a file which needs it, it will probablygive to a link to download it. If you haven't needed it, you don't need it. yet.

    Cheers for that Graham.
It`s actually already installed, part of a bundled lot when I first bought my box.I can`t ever remember having to use it,so I thought I best ask what it is.I`m in the process of dumping some of the progs that came with my box and that I have never or will never use.I suppose it can stay where it is for now, knowing my luck, I`ll need it the next day after dumping it.

    Thanks DD.
