Default USING OLD GRAPHICS AND SOUND CARDS

I'M BUYING A NEW SYSTEM (PENTIUM 4) BUT WANT TO USE MY SOUNDBLASTER SOUNDCARD AND VIDEOCARD FROM MY PREVIOUS COMPUTER (PENTIUM 3). IS THIS A BAD IDEA?

Not a good idea. Either get a pc/mobo/cpu system with onboard graphics/sound (cheaper but not great quality or performance) or get new sound and video cards (AGP for video) at the original time of purchase.

Unless it causes conflicts, there is nothing stopping you from doing this. But your new system might come with built-in sound, which may be better than your old Soundblaster card.

Well can't really answer your question until we know what kind of sound card and graphics card you have/had in your PIII.

Also what do you plan to use your computer for?

What specs are you looking at for your new P4 system?

    cheers

If your old video card is PCI then forget that one.
If you have an AGP video card then this may work.

If your old sound card is ISA then forget that too.

What are you buying? More particularly what motherboard comes with the new system?

What are the old cards you want to put into the new system?

If you have a Soundblaster Live or Audigy PCI card then this may work for you.
