    Default GATOR CORPORATION

Quite often while surfing have been offered downloads from "GATOR'.
    Are they reputable and safe?
I have till now always said "NO".

I think Gator is spyware - I might be wrong. So if it is, I wouldn't accept it.

I agree with Stu, with bells on. Don't touch it. Spyware.

Its full of spyware which uses up your computer memory by running in the background and slows internet conenctions when reporting back on your surfing habits ( this means you get lots of spam). It is a damn invasive program that can sometimes be a right sod to get rid of.

Gator or Claria is spyware NOT a virus.

it "delivers behaviorally-targeted online advertisements" :-)

it does this by gathering info about your surfing and sending this info back to gator.

I must say that it acts a bit like a virus but not as bad as some spyware out there.

I would NEVER download or install this program, it provides nothing of use to most users and will only cause you problems.
