Default Outlook Express and Windows Messenger

Hi all. I am using Outlook Express (the one that comes with Windows XP Pro) and when ever I open it (to check my Hotmail account) it opens up Windows Messenger but I use MSN Messenger (version 6.1 beta) and do not want it to open. I went into the options and tell it not to sign me in automatically but there is no option to stop it opening Windows Messenger. How do I stop this inoying problem?

Now when I go to open Outlook it takes like two minutes to "load" even though the CPU isn't doing anything nor the hard drive.

I do not think that would happen, because outlook would see that you have MSN & use it.

I might be wrong, try it & see what happens.

This was suggested to me by another brilliant mind from this forum, although it was Win 2000, but it worked for me. Go into explore, programmes, then re-name the MSN folder, then Outlook Express can't find it. Worked a treat for me.
