NT Authority\System shuts down my computer

I keep on getting a message pop-up saying. "NT Authority\System" is shutting down your sytem, save all applications........................... It then counts down from 60 seconds and at 0 shuts down and restarts my computer, - what's going on, can anyone help please? My OS Windows XP Home.

Thanks stu, yes it did help, made me realise, that I was hit by the W32.blaster.worm it's all fixed now after installing the Microsoft patch.

Why on earth couldn't you have looked further down the page and seen Chilling's post phrased practically the same way and gleaned your answers from that???
